Hands-on
Glass Orbs
A cluster of glass beads lit only by three stars that swing through and around it on looping orbits, shedding rainbow ink; the glass bends each star into hundreds of refracted copies.
Drag to look around; touch things to play with them.
- The idea
- The stars follow exact periodic solutions of the three-body problem, and each bead refracts and splits their light like a real glass lens. Inspired by uon.visuals, with his permission.
- With music
- Kicks send a pulse wave through the beads and jolt some of them; bass swells and spins the cluster; highs add glints; vocals brighten the stars. Tap Demo beat for our own beat, or Your music to let it hear the room.
- How it runs
- It’s the same live simulation as in the Everdust apps, running in your browser on WebGL 2. If your device struggles, it lowers the detail a step at a time to keep the motion smooth.
This is just a taste
